Finn’s Rule Information Cards
Share Finn’s Rule With Your Drivers
Following a tragic accident in Sussex County, Wisconsin when a five-year-old boy, Finn Katona, was killed by a school bus, the family charged The School Bus Safety Company with taking additional steps to prevent such future tragedies. The primary cause of this accident was that Finn was being picked up from an unsafe stop. A number of school buses used this stop and none of the drivers reported it as being unsafe. There was no room for students to be 10 feet away from the buses and it was a heavily congested area with dozens of students being close to the buses.
We have updated our Danger Zones training program to include a stronger section on safe stops to try to prevent such accidents in the future. A copy of this program is available for free if you click on that request on the home page of this web site.
In addition, the family has asked us to distribute danger zone information cards to as many drivers as possible to also try to prevent such future tragedies. We would be pleased to provide copies of such cards, free of charge for distribution to your drivers.
